For most of my adult life, I’ve had an on-and-off relationship with exercise. My issue was never effort, it was consistency.
Do you go to the gym in the evening after a long day at work when you’re already exhausted, or do you drag yourself out of bed at 6am and go before the day even starts? Both feel hard. Then there’s the constant mental load. What should I be doing when I’m there? What should I be eating? What about the foods I actually want to eat?
And on top of all that, there’s PMS. The hormone shifts. The weeks where energy drops, motivation disappears, and everything feels heavier than it should. I used to struggle with (much better now) fairly bad bloating and cramps, and those weeks would often be the point where everything fell apart.
For years, I repeated the same pattern. I would join the gym, attend regularly for a few weeks, then slowly stop. Motivation dipped. PMS arrived. Energy crashed. And eventually the familiar guilt followed, the sense that I simply lacked discipline.
At my heaviest, I was carrying around 20kg (see image below) more than I wanted to. More than that, I felt emotionally inconsistent. My moods fluctuated across the month, PMS felt disruptive rather than manageable, and exercise became something I associated with pressure rather than support.
I didn’t feel broken. But I didn’t feel aligned either.
This review is about how discovering cycle syncing, and later the Fourmula supplement and app system, changed that relationship with exercise, consistency, and ultimately how I felt in my own body and in fact, my life!

“That’s me. The photo on the left was taken in July 2025 and the one on the right in November 2025, before the WomenDaily Awards.
I know, in one photo I’ve got makeup on and in the other I look like I’ve just got out of bed. But I chose these images because this is not only a representation of how I look, it’s how I now feel.
I think most people don’t struggle because they truly lack willpower. They struggle because they lack guidance, the right emotional support, and the right nutrition to reach their goals.
I used these photos because they represent a shift that came from support, structure, and understanding what my body actually needed. Most people don’t need more pressure. They need better guidance.
The Fourmula System gave me all of this”
What Is Fourmula?
Fourmula is a cycle-synced supplement and app system designed specifically for women. Unlike traditional sports supplements, which are largely developed around male physiology, Fourmula works with the menstrual cycle rather than ignoring it.
The system includes:
- Phase A capsules, designed for the follicular and ovulatory phases
- Phase B capsules, designed for the luteal and menstrual phases
- A cycle-aware app that tracks phases, symptoms, mood, workouts, and recovery
The idea is simple but powerful. Instead of forcing the same energy output every week, the system adapts support depending on where you are in your cycle.
Why Cycle Syncing Matters
Hormones such as estrogen and progesterone influence far more than just reproduction.
They play a role in:
- Energy availability
- Mood and motivation
- Recovery and inflammation
- Stress tolerance and sleep quality
Many women naturally feel more resilient and energetic during the follicular and ovulatory phases, and more sensitive to stress during the luteal and menstrual phases. Traditional fitness advice rarely accounts for this, which helps explain why so many women experience inconsistency, burnout, or PMS-related disruption.
Fourmula is built around this reality rather than pushing against it.
What Actually Changed for Me
I want to be honest about something. When I first started using Fourmula, I wasn’t expecting a miracle. I’d tried enough things over the years to know that nothing changes overnight.
What I did notice, quite quickly, was that exercise stopped feeling like such a battle.
Normally, by the time I hit the second half of my cycle, my workouts would either disappear completely or feel miserable. I would drag myself through them, feel bloated, irritable, low on energy, and then give up for days or weeks at a time.
This time was different.
I was still training, but I wasn’t forcing it. Some days were lighter. Some days surprised me. And gradually, I realised I was no longer stopping altogether.
That consistency is what changed everything.
As the weeks went on, my workouts started to feel better. Strength sessions felt stronger. Cardio felt less exhausting. I wasn’t wired or overstimulated, just more capable. Ingredients like L-citrulline clearly helped here, especially during my higher-energy phases, improving blood flow, breathing and making training feel smoother rather than harder. It didn’t feel like a crazy stimulant hit. It felt natural.
Phase B felt thoughtfully put together. Ingredients such as premium saffron extract, ashwagandha, tropical holy basil, and shatavari root are all linked to stress resilience and hormonal support, and together they helped me feel calmer, sleep better, and recover properly during lower-energy weeks.
And the results added up.
I lost 20kg, but more importantly, I gained consistency, confidence, and enjoyment in moving my body again. When I look at the photos side by side, the difference is obvious. I’m standing differently. I look more comfortable in myself. That doesn’t come from willpower alone. It comes from finally working with my body instead of constantly fighting it.
This is why I say Fourmula isn’t a quick fix or a fat burner. It’s a system that makes consistency possible. And consistency is what actually changes your body and your head.
The App: Where It All Comes Together
The Fourmula app plays a major role in the system’s effectiveness. Rather than prescribing rigid plans, it:
- Encourages appropriate training intensity
- Logs mood, symptoms, workouts, and recovery
- Offers AI-supported coaching that adapts over time
- Has a great education section which is tailored to me.
Journaling within the app was particularly impactful for me. Not just from a fitness perspective, but mentally. It helped me understand patterns in my mood, energy, and motivation rather than blaming myself for inconsistency.
Most importantly, the app removes guilt. Scaling back is not framed as failure. It is framed as physiology.
Weight Loss, Mood, and Reality
Over time, and without drastic measures, I lost 20kg.
But more importantly, I regained trust in my body.
I am calmer, more emotionally stable, and far more consistent. Exercise now supports my life instead of draining it. And for the first time, the idea that movement can improve wellbeing actually feels true, because it is sustainable.
Who Fourmula Is For
Fourmula will suit women who recognise themselves in this story. Women who aren’t short on effort, but struggle with consistency. Women whose training gets derailed by PMS, low energy, or feeling out of sync with their bodies. Women who want more gains and improved performance.
It’s also for women who want more from their workouts. Not through stimulants or extreme pre-workouts, but by supporting energy delivery, endurance, and recovery which stays consistently throughout their daily lives.
Final Verdit
If you’ve read this far, it will probably come as no surprise that I was genuinely impressed. That’s why Fourmula received a five-star rating and an award at the 2025 WomenDaily Awards.
